Should work feel like home? Should we all be friends and family? No! But we are as close to it as it gets.

Hi, we're smartocto

We build smart editorial analytics systems for newsrooms, storytellers, marketers, and any other company publishing online. Rather than just delivering data, our mission is to help optimise content and make it more relevant, impactful and profitable, based on the right data. With the story at the center of it all, we empower content creators to reach their audience and turn their online effort into profit.

With offices in Nijmegen, The Netherlands and Novi Sad, Serbia and serving news organisations all over the world, we're an international organisation with a heart for journalism. We have many different disciplines in our ranks, from data engineers to developers, customer success specialists to marketers and more. We're not big on hierarchy; we enjoy working hard and having fun together - even outside office hours.

I think the positive, encouraging and transparent atmosphere is what really sets smartocto apart from other companies. There is always room for trying out something new or bringing in new ideas. No day is the same at smartocto, but every day we’re working towards the same goal, together!

We value a good work/life balance, so as a new smartoctonian amongst our ranks you can enjoy flexible working hours and the possibility to work remotely. Even though we're based in different countries, we're connected through Slack everyday and operate as one team. We're all in this together, working towards that single goal of empowering all online publishers to make the most of every story, based on data and insights.

At smartocto you will be challenged to put your knowledge and skills into practice. Customers sometimes come with special, specific questions that they want answered. It's fun to come up with a suitable solution or to ask a good return question about why they want to know something. Usually, you then arrive at an even better solution together with the customer.
